After being overweight and out of shape most of her life, Tanya started lifting weights in 2010. The intention was not to compete, but to become a better, healthier version of herself. She accomplished that goal and it was decided to take it up a notch. Tanya competed in her 1st show, The Upper Midwest, in March 2013, where she became a nationally qualified PHYSIQUE competitor. The following weekend she placed 2nd at the Jay Cutler Desert Classic. After the Jay Cutler in Vegas, Tanya took a year to build and add muscle to her physique. Then, in May of 2014, she competed in her first national show in South Carolina. The critique from the judges at Jr. USA's was: "Nice abs. Needs to build upper body. Needs leaner lower body." Tanya is currently training hard, adding that much needed muscle.
